Week 4

Just as the Zodiac finally looked to be on the up and up, winning 4-1 against Gateway United, they suffered several injuries. Kelyn Rowe pulled up lame with a hamstring injury that is expected to keep him out through at least this week, while Zodiac's leading scorer, Joao Plata, suffered a hamstring tear that will keep out another 3 weeks. There was some hope that Pontius and Sheanon Williams would recover in time for this weekend, but the trainers decided to hold them back from competing this weekend. The only good news for the Zodiac is that Yannik Djalo finally cleared up his work visa issues and is expected to make his debut this weekend. Hopefully the Zodiac's depth will prevail against a strong Second City team. Kenny Cooper will retain the captain armband this weekend.

Returning Players

The Zodiac are pleased to announce that Chris Pontius and Gabriel Torres will be returning as the Zodiac's first designated players. The front office believes that Pontius can regain his promising form from the two years ago that made him the Zodiac's first player. Torres, an mls newcomer, looked very promising towards the end of the seasoning. Finally, Gyasi Zardes, who has looked promising during preseason, will be retained via the retention fund.
